Roller-seam welding. Continuous precision.

NIMAK’s roller-seam welding technology extends resistance joining beyond individual spots to continuous or overlapping welded seams.

What is roller-seam welding?

Roller-seam resistance welding uses rotating wheel electrodes to join overlapping material as the workpiece moves through the process. It is commonly selected where a continuous seam is required.

NIMAK roller-seam machines

NIMAK offers individually configured roller-seam welding machines. Its published range includes longitudinal and transverse seam tracking options, different roller-drive arrangements and alternating-current or medium-frequency configurations.

Applications and specification

Examples cited by NIMAK include sealed industrial components such as tanks and related fabricated products. Material thickness, seam geometry, access, leak-tightness requirements and production duty determine what should be investigated.

Product descriptions are introductory. Manufacturer specifications, current availability and any engineering-project scope are confirmed for each enquiry.

Useful things to know.

Does AutoSan operate a contract seam-welding workshop?

This page concerns access to NIMAK roller-seam welding machine technology and technical enquiries. It does not advertise a contract welding workshop.

Is roller-seam welding the same as spot welding?

Both are resistance-welding processes, but seam welding typically uses rotating wheel electrodes to form an overlapping or continuous seam rather than isolated spot welds.
